This Book is otherwise provided to you as-is is an experimental novella sculpted entirely from passages from out-of-copyright novels transcribed by Project Gutenberg that were e-mailed to me by spambots.
The result is a fractured narrative in 35 chapters, with sources ranging from Stendhal to Virginia Woolf to D.H. Lawrence, including occasional interruptions by the copyright policies of Gutenberg itself.
As the narrative builds and breaks, wave-like, it draws out and develops the themes inherent in the source texts while interrogating and complicating concepts of authorship, originality, and copyright, while remaining at its heart an exploration of how narrative is constructed from desires.
This Book is otherwise provided to you as-is holds a mirror up to the mirror of narrative itself.
