If you do not make any money writing, but collect many rejections, you may believe you are not a real writer.
But when the taxman calls, and wants you to prove that you’re a real writer, you can show them the rejections. He will accept them as proof. They are tangible evidence that you’re engaged in the business of being a writer.
If the government, who doesn’t care about you or your dreams, will accept rejections as proof that you are a real writer, then why do you think the rejections mean you’re not a real writer?
